Olton WMnow Update |
||
|
Good morning everyone, Here is your update for the Olton area.
Crime Update: There was a theft from motor vehicle on Bryanston Road in the early hours of the 17th of May whereby an unknown offender has broken the window of the victims car and stolen Tabacco from inside to the value of £50 before making off. Enquires are still ongoing to identify the thief.
Good News: The team have been heavily involved in enforcing a dispersal order which is still currently active in Solihull Town Centre following reports of disorder. Cracking down on anti-social behaviour and ensuing our local residents can enjoy the sunshine in peace is key priority for the team as we head into the summer months.
Last month the team were given a report of a theft of scooter to investigate. A boy around 5 years old had left his scooter outside a shop to go in to get a drink, when he came out it has been stolen. With no CCTV and no eyewitnesses we were frustrated that this boy was robbed of his beloved scooter and we had no leads to go on. The team decided that the right thing to do in this very unusual crime was to have a collection from our team and we bought him a new one. It was a moment that makes you proud to wear the uniform to see the smile on his face when we dropped it off as a surprise to him and his mom.
The team were kindly invited to a number of schools on the patch this past week to give inputs to a number of classes and offer the chance for some kids to see what its like behind the wheel of a police car with the blues and twos on. With the handbrake on of course. Thank you to the schools that extended us an offer to visit and who knows we might of gained a few recruits in the future.
Local LEOS officers have been taking part in OP SCEPTRE which is a national week of action covering knife crime related offences across the country. We have conducted knife sweeps using a metal detector in local parks including OLTON JUBILEE and ELMDON PARK. On this occasion, no weapons were found.
I hope everyone is keeping cool when possible and has been enjoying the return of the warm weather. We look forward to being in touch again soon. | ||
